Nice complete kit but would have liked a little more instructions on how to clean the sensor

My camera cleaning kit is a scattered hodgepodge of cloths, blowers, and brushes that I've accumulated over the years. Some good, some not so good. I needed to replace some of these parts and also wanted swabs to clean my transducer. This kit has everything I need plus a decent storage box for everything together. Everything about it seems so good if not even better than my cleaning equipment that I have used for years. But I want to focus on the sensor cleaner. There was a time when people said cameras needed to be sent to a professional to have the sensor cleaned. But lately these "tampons" for cleaning the sensor have been popping up everywhere. They can pick up dust particles that the blower just won't clear. Is It Safe to Use a Tampon? All the online demo videos convinced me that this is the case, especially if you're just trying to clean up some dust. Perhaps more stubborn dirt requires professional attention, but I'm confident that basic sensor cleaning with swabs like the ones in this kit is a safe process. on sealed individual packs: Set the camera to cleaning mode (to stabilize the sensor). Swipe in one direction at a 60-degree angle. Turn the swab over and repeat the process in the same direction. So I did it. And I think it worked, but then I noticed the bottle of liquid that goes with it. It is designed to be sprayed onto a swab (NOT the transducer). But I used a dry tampon because the instructions for a tampon don't say anything about using a liquid. Did I do it wrong? Should I do it again? Is it a problem to use a dry swab? I guess I'll never know for sure. I watch more videos online and try to learn this way. But if you're selling a tampon and liquid kit, you may be able to either put instructions on the tampon telling you if you need liquid. Otherwise I worry that I'm doing something wrong. Long story short, it looks like the dry swab worked just fine. Maybe I'll try liquid next time. Perhaps UES can update the set with some useful information on how all the pieces work together. as if the dry swab worked well. Maybe I'll try liquid next time. Pros
  • Alcohol and ammonia free lens and sensor cleaner is non-aggressive. It is safe for COMS and CCD sensors and all other sensitive optical surfaces. It works great with sensor cleaning wipes and microfiber lens wipes to make your cleaning job more efficient.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
