Sometimes it pays to contact the manufacturer

When I bought this key fob, I knew exactly the year, make and model of my car. The seller's website recognized all the perimeters and recommended the keychain I bought. As soon as I got the key fob I went to the programming page and was told that the year, make and model were not listed. I ended up at a Honda dealership where they had to program the fob and charge a new battery as the one that came with the fob didn't work. The key fob was my spare, so it was on the key rack by the door. . About a week later my daughter drives to the car and the key fob doesn't work. So I go back to the dealer. The problem with the keychain is that the latches that hold the battery aren't big enough, so the battery dies. Compared to my Honda key fob, this one is poorly made and made out of cheap material. The promise of programming it yourself, which is said to save a lot of money, is not true. In this case, the adage "you get what you pay for” is certainly true.
