Easy way to add Bluetooth to your desktop computer

My Dell desktop computer didn't have Bluetooth. Windows 10 will be recognized and loaded automatically. I have not tested performance. I just needed an easy way to connect a Bose speaker or Bluetooth headphones for Zoom/MS-TEAMS calls. Easy!

    Flakey Networking Products

My desktop PC doesn't have BT on MB so I've always used a dongle. My previous setup was an Asus BT4 dongle so I decided to upgrade as some of my new devices have BT5. I started getting another Asus dongle since my old one worked so well, but settled on this one based on the Linux compatibility and decent reviews. There was an error. This thing was a problem from the start and did nothing but make my system unstable. When I first plugged it in, my system froze for a few seconds. Eventually he…

    Stops working within minutes

I ordered this item two days ago and received it yesterday afternoon. I plugged it into my laptop and the blue light on the adapter started blinking. I went into the bluetooth settings on the laptop and turned on my new bluetooth headphones which were purchased and delivered through Revain at the same time as the adapter, they would not connect. I looked at the adapter again and the light was no longer on. Within hours I downloaded and installed adapter drivers (which should have been enabled…

    Doesn't work with Fedora 33

Bought because a reviewer said it works out of the box with Fedora 33 kernel 5.9 (review was about a month old when I bought this product). Now on kernel 5.10 and absolutely doesn't work on Fedora 33 with kernel 5.10. Another reviewer on Fedora 32 said that he/she was having random timeouts and that his/her bluetooth device was never fully connected. That's exactly what I'm experiencing. The drivers provided by EDIMax come in zipped form with source code and installation instructions are…

Plug and Play with Windows 10

Windows recognized this immediately without having to download drivers from a shady site and trust them. Worth the extra money compared to cheaper options.

Better than the ones I've tried.

This is the second brand of Bluetooth adapter I've tried. Unlike the other brand, this one was correctly recognized by Windows 10, which automatically installed the Edimax driver. After the reboot the Bluetooth works. Sony Bluetooth headphones connected immediately, started working immediately and continue to work. Two different bluetooth keyboards pair at the same time in a similar way and just work. I'm glad to have found a brand that makes a good product at a good price.

Does nothing with my bluetooth headset in Fedora 32

Got random errors and timeouts and killed hanging connection errors in dmesg while it was. , reconnect, try again. I'll try again in Fedora 33 as another review here says it works there, but 5.9.16-100.fc32.x86_64 should suffice when it says it works in 5.3. But as long as it goes in the box, it's useless. Hopefully I can update this review positively in the future.

Decent sound, range could be better for BT5

Nice and small, drivers install easily and automatically with Win 10 Gives BT to my X470 motherboard but doesn't seem to work as well as my laptop BT. The sound quality is normal, but sometimes a small "artifact" can appear. Range could be better and may drop slightly indoors. However, the price and convenience are worth it.

Works great with Fedora 33 (tested with kernel 5.9)

After I bought a BT 5.0 USB adapter that didn't work with my Fedora Linux workstation, I decided to try this adapter, because it was advertised with Linux compatibility. I'm happy to report that it's out of the box on Fedora 33 with kernel 5.9. No complaints at all!

Random errors and timeouts and also fixed hanging connection errors dmesg during it was. It would connect to my headset but then just make weird, audible, distorted noises, then disconnect, reconnect, repeat. I'll try again in Fedora 33 as another review here says it works there, but 5.9.16 -100.fc32.x86_64 should suffice when it says it works in 5.3. But as long as it goes in the box, it's useless.
