Our old system collar broke and could not be replaced. Easy to install as we already had a 12 ga wire fence that was previously buried. A few quick connections and we were fine. so i thought We continued to receive open loop light unless we increased the unit's power to (9-10) and set it to HIGH. I found this odd as the other system never had any open loop issues. I called SportsDog direct and spoke to customer service. It is recommended to perform a loopback test. I did this and the system passed the test normally, which they believed meant a damaged or compromised cable. I walk around our property 2 times with no visible damage. I decided to replace the wire around the perimeter. To my surprise, the wire was damaged by a contractor covering the driveway. They hit it and tried to reconnect it but it was a poor job. enough to have 90% signal loss, but at the maximum (9-10) it showed up well. I fixed the line and BAM! Everything works perfectly. Customer service was great. The product seems good at the moment. The only thing I don't like is that the e-collar is big, my dog is 45lbs and I find it a bit bulky. Hopefully this can be less profiled in the future. My wife likes the collar buckle although she thinks it's much better than our previous one. All in all a great unit. And the best part is that the remote control can be used with the perimeter of our fence E, which was not the case in the previous case.
