I wanted to take the 4-5 2TB SSDs I have and use them as magnets for my Komodo. The thing works as advertised. No dropped frames even at maximum resolution (R3D HQ 40 fps, full resolution). Make sure your 2.5" SATA SSD can handle write speeds in excess of 300MB/s - many don't. Look for TLC, NOT QLC, and look for evidence of sustained write speeds in excess of 300MB/s. The two cheap SSDs I have work like magnets: Micron 1100 2.5-inch 2TB SSD - $200 Crucial MX500 2.5-inch 2TB SSD - $215.
