Review on πŸš— 12V 5A Red LED Momentary Push Button Metal Switch for Car Boat Speakers Bells Horns by Craig Galante

Revainrating 4 out of 5

4 stars for this cool horn button, but more detailed instructions are needed (INCLUDED HERE)

So here's the deal. As mentioned in other reviews are the connectors small on back and seller's instructions incorrect.I tested it and got the following result: I believe NO means "Normally Open" and NC = "Normally Closed" You are using one or the other , not both. Normally open means the switch is open until pressed (beeps when pressed), normally closed means the switch is closed (beeps) until you press the button - I know not why anyone would want that. Post + is used to turn on the light on the switch. If you don't want a light, don't post +. I wanted light. I took about 4 inches of 16 gauge stranded red wire , stripped one end about 1/2 inch and threaded it through the small hole in the + pin and through the middle of the NO pin: I soldered to both of these posts and then trimmed the excess wire (I had to trim about 3 strands from the wire pull so they go through the small holes). In the end I attached the red wire to the + and B pillars. I did similar. with 16 gauge black wire threaded through the negative pin (-) below and up through pin C (on the left, which might mean "common"), making my black negative wire. Then I connected the red wire. the 12v plus (in this case the plus from the boat battery) and the plus from the horn (these 3 you can just plug together with a nut - I used a fuse box) and then connect the black wire to minus (negative wire from the boat battery) and negative from the beep (again, use a wire nut to connect 3 together). Result t: The signal light is on and the beep works like a charm when the button is pressed. I've attached a photo of the finished product and apologize for the poor soldering quality (I used a small flashlight as I couldn't find my soldering iron!). I love the look of the button and the size suits my application. A better direction would be of great help. Note that the bezel is very small so be careful when drilling the hole - mine was too big and my button doesn't fit well (I need to get a bigger bezel). I think someone said you didn't do it. Need a negative on the switch - this might be correct on a type of vehicle where you have a ground ready, but I believe you need to connect to the negative on a boat. Bigger ports would be nice, but don't work well for the button size. It would be nice to have an extra braid - that's basically what I came up with. So 4 stars - cool little horn button - with one point for lack of clear instructions and the effort required to make it work. Would I buy again? Yes. I hope this will save some of you time and hassle.
