Tips and Modifications to Realize the Full Potential of this Monitor

There are a few things you need to know when working with this triple monitor mount: Align it to make sure it is at the top. If you don't do this, the monitors won't align side-to-side. You can use a spacer if you need to make adjustments. Remember that you only need to use a small amount of spacer as the length of the post is much longer than the surface area of the cushion the post rests on.2. Place of attachment with screws on the table. If you have an IKEA table like mine, you will need to insert a block of wood to increase the area where weight is applied to the table. If you don't do this and your table has a honeycomb surface, the table surface will split. (See image) Note: You will see that I used a piece of wood on BOTH sides of the table top to spread the load. You can replace the eyebolts that attach the bracket to the table. This is M10-1.5. I used 50mm long screws from HD. Remember these screws have a shoulder so you can't screw them all the way in. I also used 2 large washers with small holes so the screws would push against them instead of going through the wood. You can also use the eyebolt caps provided (they thread onto the eyebolt and can be removed with a Phillips screwdriver)4. In my case I found that the center monitor cannot be moved forward and I need to move it 5 inches closer. To bring it closer I added some wooden blocks as spacers. (see pic) If you need to know how I put them together let me know and I'll take mine apart so I can take an extra photo showing how I put them together. The final setup still allowed the monitor to rotate and I was able to adjust the monitor level to match the other two external monitors.5. The further you extend the monitors, the more the monitor arm sags. It's simple lever physics. Be careful not to charge monitors more than necessary. You can break the table or the arm itself. You also need to tighten the locking bolt to lock it.6. Monitor cables can run through a vertical bar, but understand that if you're using a KVM switch like I am, not all cables will fit. You need to use some velcro straps to secure extra cables.7. The monitors should - if at all possible - be monitors of the same model. Having different sizes is really a pain. You will notice that my center monitor is NOT the same model so I have a little problem. (see picture)8. Monitor Height - I had to lower mine after installing it. What I did was use a block of wood as a support while I unscrewed the bolts holding the arms to the B-pillar. I then kept my hand on the block of wood and readjusted the setscrews to the correct height. This procedure is better than trying to hold the monitors up when adjusting or removing the monitors and then adjusting the height.9. Monitor Placement - I find it best to have 3 monitors the same distance from my head for the "wrap around" effect. If you wear glasses like me, you can see much better. 10. Lock hands down. You want them to be tight enough to stay in place BUT you can still move them. You never know when you'll need to step behind the monitor for some reason, e.g. B. with a loose cable or if you want to rotate the monitor. In general I like this device. It does exactly what I need and now I have a desk again that I can use without a monitor stand.
