I have had this sock for a year now. That does an amazing job. I haven't tested it yet by stepping in the water. But I mostly use them by putting on my Hoka trail running shoes (superventilated and porous) and then putting them on in the snow. I walk in the snow like a photographer. This allows me to walk in the snow in these grippy shoes without getting cold. My feet stayed dry and warm for hours. I also mountain bike a lot in the mountains and this winter I wore them in my cycling shoes when riding through mud and snow. Which, like sneakers, are very ventilated. If they ever had a hole I would buy them individually or multiple. But they lived in perfect condition for a year. For your information. Don't put them in the dryer to dry, just wash them and hang them to dry.
