I was surprised to learn that this product is not for use by those with macular degeneration. Since I have that condition, it's a good thing I only plan to use this as a desk lamp. From what I can tell, it's still ok to use it that way. I think they just don't want it angled straight up into my eyes. Anyway, as a desk lamp it is pretty cool. It has 3 brightness settings and works extremely well for paperwork, reading or crafting. It's also got a clock, alarm, temperature readout and a wireless phone charger. It's the Swiss Army knife of lamps. The only problem I have is that if I pull it forward to shine down on my keyboard , it's either going to block my computer screen or glare on my computer screen- or both. I have to settle with it being off to the side of my paperwork. Fortunately, its bright enough that that still works. The lamp is very modern and solidly built. It would be a nice addition to any desk, even if you don't use it as a therapy lamp.
