Screws could be better

This set has a lot going for it. The fasteners - shackles, carabiners, etc. - are well made, smooth and good looking. The coil of wire is good; The nylon coating is attractive. Two issues for me: first, the screws don't have enough "bite" to be used without pilot holes in the wood, and they're a bit softer than I'd like. I ripped off the head of one and had to remove it with pliers. I solved this problem by using a couple of Grip-Rite bolts from my local Big Box store which, although 1/8" shorter, were much easier to use. Second, the hooks are really designed for hollow core applications as they use a molybdenum bolt. commitment type. If you want to use it on something other than a wall, e.g. B. wood, you have to look elsewhere. I had a hook in the wall break after tightening a molybdenum screw, but it still held tension. for my application (phew). I'm going to use some screw hooks - again from a big store - for the other string I want to run. Some additional notes/tips: 1. I use plastic wire ties instead of the zip ties provided; It looked like extra work I wanted to do for my setup. I like them because you can make a loose loop to let them hang and come back later to slightly tighten. 2. Turnbuckles allow very precise adjustment. Most of the tension you need to apply is when connecting the hooks and using the turnbuckle to tighten. The instructions for use could be a little clearer, we recommend that you play with them before installing them to ensure their suit range will work in your final application.
