The activated carbon in the filters needs to be changed once a month in our aquarium as it is 150 gallons and if you don't catch the fish they will start to die. I looked at all the pet stores and although my filter was bought from one of them I couldn't find any replacement charcoal anywhere. It's good value for money, arrived quickly and works in my filter.
