Review on Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Fixed Lens - Discontinued by Manufacturer by Ta Wan ᠌

What you need, a cool purchase, I advise you.

In general, the lens is good for 3k, for beginner photographers or just amateurs. After a couple of months of use, I bought a Helios 44m-7, after delighting with its picture and sharpness, I put Canon 1.8 on the shelf and have not been using it for several months, and in general I don’t even see the point anymore. I'm not going to sell it yet, let me have at least one autofocus lens =) And then I'll buy a better one. Here is my personal opinion. Maybe someone will come in handy.

Pros
  • I bought from canon 60d right away, instead of a whale. For a beginner with limited finances, this lens is what you need! The color rendition is very good, the bokeh is also normal, quite sharp for such and such money! Aperture. Naturally, 1.8 lathers on a hole, but starting from 2.8 it is already in order.
Cons
  • the construction is flimsy, there are no distance markings, there are chromatic aberrations. When using manual focus, you constantly have to twist with each shot, because in the viewfinder it lies that you are in focus, and then you look at the pictures - muddy. I also want to add an important drawback - very often autofocus smears in dim lighting, for example, when photographing in an autumn park without sun, the part of the photo that should be in focus is somehow smeared as if it were shaken, although the aperture is not wider than 3.2 and the shutter speed is shorter than 1 / 100. this may not be very critical for the clients of a novice photographer, but now it does not suit me at all.
