Strong light, good performance, NOT waterproof.

I bought these lights to keep in my car in case of an emergency. Two photos of my car's engine bay, taken in a dark garage, show a strong beam of light and a strong side light. Both modes are very good for spot lighting and general area coverage. In addition, the Spotbeam also illuminates the area in front of you when walking or jogging. I think it would be great for my purposes, repairing a car, helping those in need, or filling up gas on a dark street. I've had several headlamps in the past and the lithium battery is great for them. special feature. This makes the lamp smaller and lighter so the lamp doesn't slide off your forehead when you walk under the weight of 2 or 3 AA batteries. I was a little concerned that the headband wouldn't be secure without the crown strap, but it works great and is very sturdy. Other valuable features include a green "on" indicator that lets you know the device is on when the device is in "motion sensor" mode but the lights are off. Motion sensor function that works in both high beam and side light modes, ideal when your hands are greasy or dirty and you want to turn the lights on and off. A simple wave of your hand in front of the light turns it on and off better than fumbling with the on/off switch yourself. Finally, the blue lights show the charge level during use and on the charger. Although I have a couple of comments. A small downside is the plastic lens on the headlight. It scratches easily and gets scratched if used carelessly. very fast. I keep mine in old camera bags to survive the impact in my emergency bags. It would be nice if the lens was recessed so it wouldn't get scratched if you put it on a table or something. The main complaint is that the manufacturer claims IPX6 "water resistance". g, which means that the device must withstand "water thrown out by powerful jets". The device worked fine, but then I noticed that water droplets had collected in the middle and side light, as can be seen in the photo of the side light. I removed the back of the unit and there was water everywhere. Not critical as I'll be using it most of the time in good weather, but if I've been out in the rain a lot I might look for a different, more waterproof headlamp. I have requested and received a refund as the devices are not working as advertised.
