I specifically bought it one size larger than my son would like because he wants a leather jacket and is growing fast. If you want to try on a normal size for your child it will work, if like me you have a fast growing child then go and get the next size up just to be on the safe side. He likes it when it's soft and warm inside, but we have to protect him from the weather.
