I ordered a left-handed 6-foot cable. I hooked it up to my laser projector and plugged it into an outlet. Luckily it was the GFCI because when I turned on the projector the GFCI kicked in. So I pulled out my continuity tester and found that on this wire: neutral pin connected to socket, hot; Male hot connected to female crowd; and the "father" of the earth is connected to the "mother neutral". Ouch! I've never heard of anything like this! Can there be any reason for this? Without GFCI it could be dangerous for me and burn my laser projector. (I tested the original cable that came with the projector and it was neutral to neutral, hot to hot, and ground to ground as expected.) I immediately contacted Tripp Lite to let them know about the problem and told them that they should remove it from sale. You raise the issue with management. They also test the new cable to make sure it is connected properly and send it to me. But if you order this, be sure to test it before you use it!
