Tire Cleaner - Household Items

I purchased this tire cleaner on the recommendation of Wilson Auto Detailing. I detail cars from the side (about 2-3 cars a week) and use the Adams Tire Shine Applicator. Worked for about a month then broke. The glue wore off and part of the applicator came loose. Frustrated, I decided to try this. When I used it for the first time, I was immediately impressed. Like Luke at Wilson Auto Detailing, I hose it down, then wring it out and towel dry it so it's damp and not wet. I use this to apply either Meguir's Hyperdressing or sometimes Chemical Guys VRP. I cut the sponge in half and so far (about six months) have only used one half. This works very well. The only downside is that it only works on slick sidewall tires. If your tire's sidewall is heavily profiled (off-road tires), I typically use a brush to apply the tire shine.
