When the package arrived the product leaked into the box and spilled out of the box onto the floor. When we opened the box, a cloud of caustic dust flew into the room, causing me to cough profusely for several hours. We don't yet know if the product is working as intended, as it was only used last night. I will update this review once we have more information. Update: 2 days and the black tank still smells ok. We live in Phoenix where after 3 days our best black tank treatment is failing and we have to unload and flush the tanks. Let's see how it goes. Update: We currently live in the Phoenix area where temperatures are in the 100s during the day. We find that after about 2-3 days the tank starts to smell, so we add a second scoop. We flush once a week during the colder months and twice a week in the summer to keep odor under control. We have found that with this product we need to use around 3-4 scoops per week to keep the odor down. While this may seem like a lot, we used about 10-15 capsules a week with Camco capsules. My comments so far: This material is great at suppressing odor, but I wish the product didn't cause it so much. corrosive dust when opening the container. If the product were better contained (like in a capsule) it would be a solid 5 star product. Update: OK, now the temperature is up to 110 degrees during the day. We are used to draining the water and flushing the tank twice a week. Then pour 4 tablespoons of powder. Usually that's enough for four days. If not, use a different measuring spoon. In general, in very difficult conditions, this product does an excellent job of dealing with the smell of a black tank. We just wish for better packaging.
