Look at how the transducers attached to the Lowrance HDMS 10 fish finder. This suction cup worked perfectly because the holes (when the suction cup was rotated slightly) lined up with the holes on the transducer mounts. I now have an easy to mount and remove system to mount my fish finder on the various boats I own. The swivel with suction cup is great because it stays on the mirror really well with a simple twist. One of my aluminum boats has a stepped transom that offers a 5 inch transducer footprint that is somewhat turbulence proof and performs great at 50+ mph without tipping over. It will hold very well if you put some clean water on the suction cup before mounting. I've seen this suction cup used for a variety of purposes. A note. Be careful not to over-tighten the supplied screws when assembling, tight but not too tight. Overall very happy with the product for my purpose.
