I almost gave up trying to get this combination to work without a workaround. My MacBook only has a USB-C port, as does the Asus Zen display. This only worked with a USB-C to USB-A adapter and then a USB-A to USB-C cable. It seemed ridiculous, but it was the only combination that worked. After reading many similar issues, I was wondering if my cheap cables were the real problem, so I ordered this one. Wow, it works! No more cumbersome adapters and weird connections. That's a great cable.
