In case anyone is wondering if this light will grow your medium light 5g plants. Look no further! I can't even explain how happy I am with this LED. It makes my plants pearly even with CO2. Every plant in the photos is thriving! (Banana Plant, Revain Sword Compact, Penny Wort, Anubias Nana, Dwarf Sag, and Duckweed.) Algae will grow if left for a long time. Although I use a 12 hour timer and haven't had an algae problem yet. The light warms up a little but never warms up. The gooseneck is highly adjustable, very strong and durable. If you are looking for LED plant growth light. This and the 16" Finnex Stingray are the best choices in my opinion. Finnex Stingray produces a little more blue tones but will grow for your plants as the 5 gram tanks are very shallow. I have had this light for several months now. and it will grow just about any plant you throw under it as long as your tank is under 12 inches.
