I bought this lube to keep the o rings on all my personal items. For example, waterproof cases for matches, lighters, bike hand pump o-rings, my Exotac ferrocerium rod, and any other o-rings that don't come in contact with food or water. This product is inert, meaning it does not mix with gases or liquids, and is an ideal protective coating for butyl and viton o-rings. Only a thin coating is required that protects against ozone and other air pollutants. I also lubricate the plastic threads of various products to reduce wear.
