Review on Trailcross Mountain Athletic Shoes - Black Men's Five Ten by Tim Pulse

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Don't think about it, buy it

I had a pair of excellent Five Ten Freeriders that did their jobs perfectly, but I hated the skateboard aesthetic. They were in my cart for a while and finally decided to buy them when the price dropped to $120. They are slightly smaller than other Five Ten shoes, so half a size larger is best. They stick to my flat pedals (DMR Vaults) like glue, as do the Freeriders, and they're surprisingly light, extremely comfortable and, in my opinion, look far nicer than any other mountain bike shoe. Worn mine at Mountain Creek and Thunder Mountain Bike Park as well as my local trails and they offer solid protection and work as expected. Can't comment on durability yet, but they are well made and I'll update this review if I run into any issues. If you're on the debate fence, I highly recommend getting them. Unlike most other MTB shoes, they look cool and are great for regular off-trail use. They are as light as all my other shoes (mostly Nike Flyknit) and just as comfortable. Get her!

Pros
  • They are comfortable, light, have a good pedaling grip and look great!
Cons
  • Maybe not the best option for long distance travel
