Review on ๐ŸฆŸ DFST Solar Insect Killer Torch: Bug Zapper, Accent Light, and Contact Bug Eliminator by Bishop Richter

If only there was a USB port for charging.

This is a nice looking flashlight, it really kills bugs just not many bugs without that nice 3zzzzzzzzzzt- Sound from the AC plug. The biggest problem with this light is that the solar panels are not powerful enough to fully charge the battery unless it is under full sun exposure all day. Mine gets about 6 hours of full sunlight, which equates to about 4 hours of work. If it is cloudy or cloudy, even if it is bright, the working time is about 3 hours. I put this unit under a very bright PL-13 3000K LED for 8 hours and it ran from dusk to dawn, 9 hours. That tells me the battery is big enough but the solar cells are too weak. If it had a USB charging port you would have the option to use the solar panels as extras and that's about all they're really good for. All that has been said is beautiful flame effect sunlight, it looks great but it could be better with minimal design changes to better solar panels or charging ports.

Pros
  • SUSTAINABLE INSECT CONTROL SOLUTION: Think green without polluting the air or replacing fuel. Compared to traditional oil burners, the bug burner can replace up to (90) burner fuel loads (predicted usage based on 4 months average evening use)
Cons
  • Slightly dented
