Review on Collapsible Colander Silicone Strainers Vegetable by Nelson Calafell

Easy to store and suitable for all our needs

Originally intended as a Christmas present but Thanksgiving was just around the corner and we needed to drain the water so we called for them. I'm very glad we did. Advantages Foldable, therefore space-saving. We had other screens (metal and hard plastic). Their storage has always been a problem due to lack of closet space. These flattened ones are perfect for storage. For this we eliminated the others, and they take up part of the space. Thick, hard silicone. We've drained boiling water, made hot pork broth (we make tamales every year), and stored potatoes and pasta with no issues or silicone stains. Sieves remained strong, the material did not break. Different sizes - different sizes helped too. Many times we have used a large colander instead of a small saucepan with just about anything. Here you have one for all your needs. Large strainer fits in every sink. The handles on the large strainer pull out so it can hang over the sink without you having to hold it. The handles are actually pretty big. I would have thought a fairly large sink would be required to keep this from being hung. Very convenient. Hole size good. Some screens have holes of different sizes. The biggest issue I have with other screen holes is that they can be too big, allowing smaller pasta, bits of meat, or whatever to slip through. The holes on this one are all the same and appear to be large enough to allow for quick drainage but not so large that food can slip through. There will certainly always be exceptions, but we were satisfied with that. would recommend.
