This camera is a small 1.5 inch cube with a lens that sticks out another 1.5 inch or so. The lens is an optical zoom with manual focus and aperture/iris control similar to a DSLR. The low light sensitivity is also very good, it can produce a pretty good image in a dark room using only the light from your computer screen and looks really good when the room is well lit. I've used it with OBS and with video conferencing software like Command and Zoom. Because it has manual focus, it's best for subjects that don't move around too much. It would also be great as a top camera facing your desk for taking product demo shots. Since this is a very small camera, it has another useful purpose. I have a large 43 inch monitor and placing the webcam above or below results in a fairly unflattering shot looking down at either my nose or me. Because this camera is so small, you can place it on a small monopod just in front of the center of the screen. Then place a video conference window behind it. This allows you to look directly at the camera at a natural angle and still see everyone on the screen. This is a very good attitude. You need to understand a few things that differ from a typical PC webcam. The lens has manual focus/zoom/iris adjustment and does not have a built-in microphone. I won't go into those shortcomings as this lens produces nice sharp shots compared to the tiny lenses found on most webcams. Just remember that you have to set it manually. The lack of a microphone isn't a big deal either, most webcam microphones are not very good and are placed too far away. For the best sound, get a lapel or desk mic, even the cheapest will make you sound a lot better just because it's closer to your face! A few other important points, this is not a minus, it just tells you what to do. - When set to wide it's a bit like an action camera-like fisheye, when you zoom in you don't see it. - The small knobs on the focus/zoom ring are also adjustment screws, if the lens rings don't move easily, just loosen them a bit. When you have the settings you like, simply tighten them back to lock the setting. At some focus settings, the front of the lens may protrude far enough to touch the lens cap. Therefore, before attaching the lens cap, adjust the focus so that the lens is not fully extended forward. You also need to refocus when adjusting the zoom. Even if you're not live streaming or video conferencing in 4k, you can crop the image with no loss of detail thanks to the extra resolution. With 4k, software like Nvidia's Broadcast can zoom in on your face and track your movements, producing 1080p output with no loss of detail. Great little camera for conferences or product shots. The adjustable lens also enables good shots in many other situations and the 4k resolution is just great.
