Living in the south I can rent a motorhome almost all year round and don't have to worry too much about the winter temperatures. Well this winter we did some trips to some places in Albuquerque, New Mexico and let's just say I wasn't as prepared as I should have been. My fresh water tank froze when the temp dropped below 0, even when we were cranking the stove. I suspect the bottom of my tank is too far from the thermal envelope. The Facon heating pad has solved this problem. It was very easy to install after opening the bottom of the tank; it just sticks. For now I just have it firmly connected to the battery and pulled the fuse to turn it off when it's seated. I will eventually connect the switch. In my opinion this is one of the must-have features; Even if you only have to use it once on your trip, it's worth it because you don't have to deal with a frozen tank.
