It definitely made some of my jobs easier. There are several disadvantages. I don't like that you can only change which beam is used by the remote only. The remote control is a nice feature, but if you lose it or it breaks you'll only be able to use the top-level beam. At about 35 feet, the beam is about 1/4 inch wide and slightly blurry in a well-lit room. I've been using it for about a month and those are the only negative things I can say about it. I work in a steel mill and have been using it every day since I got it. Every time I don't have to wear a harness to take measurements for pipes or poles, I win! Having 2 batteries is also a big plus! I get 2-3 days on a single battery before needing a charge.
