Great gaming monitor, beautiful colors, great price

After a week of research and deliberation, I've decided on the Gigabyte M27Q as my next gaming monitor and so far I haven't been the least bit disappointed. The colors look great out of the box, but can be made even better with a little fine-tuning. I love the hardware unboxed configuration shown in their overview video. I switched to this monitor from a 1080p VA panel which I hated for the high amount of intolerable ghosting and low pixel density. I switched to this monitor and can't find any blurring, ghosting or flickering in any of the modes I've tried and I've been playing around a lot. As expected, G-Sync works excellently without stuttering. or flicker. While you should NOT buy this monitor for HDR, the HDR gaming experience was a pleasant surprise. The monitor automatically switched to HDR mode when I first opened Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and I decided to leave it on for testing. Claims of color wash aren't exaggerated and the lack of any local dimming is quite annoying, but this monitor's high peak brightness is quite good, so I don't consider the experience to be 'bad'. range of imagination. One of the things I was worried about when I bought this monitor was IPS Glow/Backlight Bleed and when I first turned on the monitor I noticed an indication of it in the top right corner, but if I didn't directly look at it and the screen is completely black, I don't even notice it and I find myself very picky about such things. Another feature of this monitor that I don't think anyone has mentioned is 10-bit color support. While you have to drop the refresh rate down to 120Hz to get this, and it's NOT true 10-bit (it's 8-bit + FRC), I find the experience totally worth it as I don't play a lot of extremely competitive games . , and my RTX 2070 still can't get past 100 fps in games at high settings of 1440p. It's also worth noting that NO gaming monitors in this price range have TRUE 10-bit color, so there's not much of a trade-off with 8-bit + FRC. Another thing you'll hear from people mentioning this monitor as a negative is the "BGR" sub-pixel layout versus the traditional "RGB" layout. After setting up ClearType in Windows, I see absolutely no difference between text on this monitor and text on another display that I use every day. In fact, in my opinion, which again I find insightful, the text is actually sharper than I expected. Overall I think this monitor can't be beat for the price and I would recommend it to anyone.
