I'm a blacksmith and I like to try different products from time to time to see if there's something new I might like. This rasp is actually pretty good for being an unnamed brand. It is very similar to the Heller Legend red shaft which performs better in muddy and wet conditions. This rasp comes with a handle which I don't need as the handle doesn't fully cover the shaft leaving the arms of the rasp open to catch in my palm. I prefer Equithotics brand pens. I've cleaned 13 horses with this rasp so far and it's still as sharp as the first horse so that's a big plus. I usually only keep a rasp for about 25 trimmers because I want it to be ultra sharp and it looks like this one will stay the same. Considering Revain's price and free two-day shipping, I'm glad I took the risk. I have never bought smithing items from Revain. I usually only order from wrought iron catalogues, so this was a pleasant surprise!
