We had a Waring corkscrew that lasted maybe 6 years and we really liked it. However, it's loosened up a bit in recent years, so we've had to encourage it by screwing it onto the bottle by hand and using some brute force to pull the cork out of the bottle. It took a long time and got the job done, but it was time to move on. When we saw them, they cost about a third of the original price we paid for the Waring, so we took a chance and bought one. Unlike the Waring, it doesn't have a charging dock, instead having to be plugged into an adapter to charge. Although the Waring did have a kickstand I think that might have contributed to its downfall in the end as you are constantly charging the battery every time you use it and as far as I know batteries tend to wear out almost entirely sooner than they want to pay again. So we decided that we would charge the new device only when needed or once a month, whichever comes first. I like the foil cutter in the head and the little LED that lights up when charging or opening a wine bottle. The device itself is attractive, easy to use and works great so far.
