Low expectations are very welcome!

Considering that a quality crimping tool costs $75 to $200 and up, my expectations for this under $50 5-in-1 machine weren't very high. Received it fairly well packaged and it came with a CD holder that has 4 pockets for extra dies, a screwdriver with its own straps and space with elastic straps and velcro for the actual crimper. As an industrial electrician, I need this tool quite often as I love crimping and curling the ends of 98% of the wires I cut. After carpal tunnel surgery, I'm fine with an instrument that uses mechanical action and leverage to its advantage to improve ease of use. So, as soon as I took it out of its case, I tried all the dice that came with it; I connected everything and crimped some wires to see how it works. Aside from the alignment of the dies, when the tool is fully closed it's off by about 1/16" (which doesn't seem to affect the crimp at all), this tool crimps all 5 different styles nicely and securely on the wire and does it don't really go on it and that bad curve. It doesn't crimp ferrules into a modular (square) shape like many of the more expensive ones do, but crimps them securely, giving the ferrule an almost U-shape. Overall this is a great product as you don't have such high expectations and it's under $50. It is made in Japan but is well made and with proper care and use will hopefully last a few years. Great product for the price!
