Image needs updating as it is now a nut for the coax end, not a collet. Ideally, you want the cable to stay attached to the device without the cable twisting. The rotation will wear away the center pin coating and connector, resulting in an intermittent connection. (as I have in one of my devices) Here is an overview of the connections as the rest of the handle has no problems. I have 3 racquet models, the first is sp-1, the current one is sp-1 and mx -h1-av. This wears down the tips of the threads in the long run, but seems to wear better. You work with all produced nodes. - The first sp-1 works on the same principle as the original, but has the actual thread. It's very difficult to tighten, but gives the best grip if you use pliers. The connector depth is 7.1mm, which doesn't matter in this design. - The new SP-1 has a nut for tightening. This works best when the length of the threads isn't too long, as it is. It's 6.6mm thick, which I've found to be an issue. I also have 3 Metcals, 1st and 2nd generation, plus an mx-500. First generation Metcal (stts-001) works perfectly with it. new tip.- The second generation (stts-002) has a thread length of 6.5 mm. Close but not enough to secure the cable. On the mx-500, before receiving this tip, I swapped out the connectors without expecting a design change. The coaxial connector on it is connected to the circuit board by a thick cast alloy. I had to remove the shim to increase the length to 6.1mm. Which is too short for that. The part I used was a VF320 RCA with a 15mm thread. I had to use the TE 5887046-1 connector which says 16mm in the datasheet. This would give an extra mm to secure this new wand. The original 15mm is not enough. I would like to see a slightly shorter nut for this stick to work with stts-002. In the meantime, I can just swap sticks until I find the best one.
