This is a great microscope camera. Its key feature is that it packs a larger Sony 183 "1" type sensor, which is larger than the sensors found in most microscope cameras (even those that cost a lot more than this unit), and this sensor is bigger and delivers really better pictures. I plugged a device into an available USB port (on the USB adapter) on my Mac and it works with no flickering or noticeable power loss. As for the Mac software, a lighter version of the software with more features made available to PC users, it does a good job of setting up a snapshot with fairly intuitive controls. [This is the same software (with a different name) as the Mac software I used with my 10MP Amscope camera]. Well made in China, this particular model is essentially the same device in a different case as several other models sold under different names. It was the cheapest option and as a bonus it came with a matching lens and a useful calibration slider. Of course it's always nice when I can buy an item like this from Revain as it only arrives in a few days and can be returned if it doesn't work. However, I am very happy with this camera and will not be returning it. ^
