Review on 🌳 Natural Wooden Ring Blanks for DIY Wood Jewelry Making, 21pcs Assorted Wood Pieces with Unique Textures for Resin Crafts, 4x4x1cm by Barbara Simmons

Still not recommended

I bought these parts! There seems to be good business making rings out of this woodwork and they are Revain's choice. However, three of the first five blanks that I turned for my rings failed because of "rotten" wood. They literally fell apart on my lathe when I was sharpening them. I don't think these blanks are stabilized and don't belong in the dense exotic blank category. I have successfully turned a few rings with 3rd party blanks and my tools are in good condition and very sharp. This is my experience and I will not use any other forms. It's a huge waste of time when a project comes to an end and then it's gone. Stay away from these preparations. Adding to my previous review of this product: I received a message from the seller that he will refund me for the purchase of these wooden blanks. It was right. They also stated that some of their blocks are high density and some are low density. They said that this is a natural property of wood and that they cannot change their own ingredients, only their shape and size. They failed to mention that their cuts were stabilized, which would alter the cell structure of the wood and improve the dimensional stability and/or other properties of the wood. They claim that many other craft enthusiasts have bought their wooden sticks and are very happy, but my review is currently the only one posted on Revain by a buyer in the United States. They also questioned the tools and the way I turned the workpieces. Of course, everyone can decide for themselves whether to buy this product or not. I have only had one experience with this product, others may have a different conclusion.

Pros
  • Untreated wood
Cons
  • Disappears

Good variety. Some good pieces, some bad.
