Review on Enhance Performance with the Edelbrock 1403 Performer Carburetor by Ryan Turner

Perfect replacement for the old, multiple rebuild Carter AFB on my 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S with 273CID Commando V8 engine. Screwed on straight away, started straight away, all you need is idle mixture, idle speed and quick idle adjustment. Purrs like an idle kitten (very big kitten :). Throttle response is great, very smooth, no lag when I turn it on, couldn't be better. Ready to use - hard to believe that no further configuration is required! Very similar to the old AFB (I heard it's an upgraded version of that carb) but the old AFB never felt so good. Another reviewer complained about the misconfiguration of the floats, I didn't take it apart to check but it works fine. Another reviewer said it was made in Mexico, mine says "Made in USA" and the quality is great. I couldn't be happier! Only parts made in the USA will fit my Made in USA '66. NOTE: It is very important to change the fuel filter when installing a new carburetor. If the old filter is broken, dirt will get into your new carburetor, very bad!
