Bought (along with new washing machine water supply hoses) to protect against potential water leaks from a cramped third floor washing machine where the hoses and normal Closures are very difficult to reach up to the valves. It's a little pricey but probably worth the money. The product was easy to install and looks like a well designed and built product. The ability to turn off the water supply simply by simply pressing the switch when we are not using the washing machine is an added plus for safety (e.g. when we go on vacation). I'm waiting to see if I can get a discount on my home insurance. I considered giving it four stars because it's not a 'smart' product, but then I realized it wasn't necessary. When Floodstop detects a leak, it shuts off the water and prevents serious damage. When I'm home I hear the alarm and can test it, but it's unlikely to be an emergency (if the product works as advertised). If I'm not at home, a notification on my phone isn't much use. And because the product doesn't need to be connected to Wi-Fi, there's no need for an extra, and sometimes troublesome, setup step.
