I bought this because I wanted to fit an air valve to a pump sprayer which I had converted to use as an engine oil fill pump to fill storage areas in newly built and long unused ones fill engines. There is no risk of bursting as all spray bottles are now equipped with pressure relief valves. While manual pumping works, compressed air makes the job easier and faster. Since the thread is 1/8" iron pipe (IPT) thread, a set of appropriately sized stainless steel washers and o-ring seal and a standard 1/8" brass IPT nut ( normally used to attach table lamps) required) fitted and worked well, pulled everything together.
