I would describe these as entry level 'high quality' headphones. Their top devices cost close to $1,000. Here's what I've experienced so far: Packaging: Looks like they've been taken out and put back in, but that's not really the case. One of the marshmallow buds had broken off. I let him sit, but he still keeps his "broken" shape. Fit: I was nervous at first, but once you position them correctly and slide the cord over and behind your ear, they're quite comfortable. I've used other marshmallow-type buds, but this block blocks out even more ambient noise. I wear cords behind my head, so the area in front of my body is completely free of cords. The cord is long enough to plug into a phone or player in the front pocket of my pants (I'm 6ft 3in). Tip Replacement: I had a broken marshmallow tip and was trying to replace it following the instructions. However, after several unsuccessful attempts, I gave up for fear of damaging the device. I couldn't twist or move the tips. I will try again but so far they work fine. Sound: Again, these are the first "good" headphones I've bought, but I can tell you they cost $100. I hear things in songs that I hadn't noticed before. In some cases, they're too good at spotting small imperfections in the shot. You can enjoy the full bandwidth without turning up the volume. When the volume is turned up, they don't distort and the bass is tight. Storage: A case is a good thing considering these are $100 headphones. The cords do not tangle as advertised and they do not suffer from the stethoscope effect when the cords rub. I would definitely recommend these devices and probably all Shure devices if you are willing to pay for sound. You CAN tell the difference.
