We use this gate extender to keep our Beagle in the kennel. The protective coating appears to be powder coated and has not shown any signs of corrosion or fading for about six months. I'm sure it will take much longer. Installation was easy, but the three screws that attach the extension to the main gate were too short. Had to go to the local hardware store to buy longer stainless steel screws. Cardinal Gates should not have made such an oversight, but the supplement is of excellent workmanship, strength and quality.
