I bought one of these full retail a few years ago and it was hands down the worst consumer electronics purchase I've ever made. Give it 6 months to a year and it just STOPS on 5GHz forever. The hardware must have failed as no factory firmware or hard reset can fix the problems unless the software tells you "this band is not available in your country". 3 months to send POS during warranty and they just stopped responding. Now this thing just disconnects every connected device and refuses to reconnect until you reboot, and this happens at least every few hours. Sometimes I have to dump that pile of garbage 3-5 times in half an hour to even keep in touch with him. Just buy literally EVERYTHING else and save yourself the headache. I'm taking that back and giving away the old Screamer treatment as soon as my new hotspot pops up, because the only other satisfying option right now is to send it to TP-Link corporate headquarters completely choked with dog shit.
