Review on ☕ SCARPA Kailash Walking Shoe: Coffee Regular – The Perfect Blend of Style, Comfort, and Durability by Russ Conrad

Excellent robust but light boot

Very well made boot with upper material made of one-piece nubuck leather. Not as soft and flexible as many other lightweight boots (610g in a size 41.5 wide). They are very stiff and protect the heel and midsole, which is how I prefer it, but with enough flexibility on the balls of the foot to use them for hiking and hiking. Not stiff like climbing shoes but stiffer than many other options like the Solomon Quest or even the Lowa Renegade. This is difficult to find in light boots with a large size. I found Scarpa's other sturdy, lightweight boots, the Zodiac Tech, to be narrower, stiffer at the toe, and didn't have enough upper material to control heel lift as other reviewers have noted with these boots. No heel lift or movement in Kailash. The large sizes aren't extra large - maybe an "E" size or a little more. Works for me where most standard width boots don't. Well done Scarpa!
