Defective product or Scarpa makes terrible quality boots.

Haven't used these boots as much as I'd like, only 10 hikes (2 of them strenuous). The soles are both peeled off completely and perfectly after 5 hours of hiking. I always check my gear before hiking and the boots seem fine. While driving, they began to peel off almost simultaneously. I strongly do not recommend these boots, for a high price you get poor quality.

Pros
  • Great walking shoes.
Cons
  • Limited color options. The boots only come in Dark Coffee, which some buyers may not like.

REALLY my pros and cons

.knew from many years of hiking etc. Italian leather. shoes, no matter what category, will be well made for brother bought. farm. many animals. walked a lot. perfect fit. he wore it all day. OK. 18 hours. THAT'S COOL. FORGET THE BOOTS ARE NEW ON ME! no glitches. no pain in the legs at the end of the 1st day. Believe me. much hype about boots. SCARPA IS BAD. BAD. BAD. Boat!

Pros
  • I am very satisfied, I like it very much, this boot is worth its price
Cons
  • Expensive – A high price can deter budget-conscious buyers.

High-quality hiking shoes from Italy!

You can't beat the price for quality boots like these. This is my second pair of Scarpas after wearing my first pair for over 6 years. I didn't expect them to be made in Italy. They really need a rest and I would recommend wearing them around the house first and going on light hikes.

Pros
  • Very happy with these boots. Well made, supportive and comfortable. Look neat too. Fit is slightly narrower.
Cons
  • Gore-Tex may not be suitable for all climates. Gore-Tex is an excellent waterproof material, but it may not be suitable for very hot or humid climates as it can cause excessive sweating of the feet.

Excellent robust but light boot

Very well made boot with upper material made of one-piece nubuck leather. Not as soft and flexible as many other lightweight boots (610g in a size 41.5 wide). They are very stiff and protect the heel and midsole, which is how I prefer it, but with enough flexibility on the balls of the foot to use them for hiking and hiking. Not stiff like climbing shoes but stiffer than many other options like the Solomon Quest or even the Lowa Renegade. This is difficult to find in light boots with a large…

Pros
  • Hiking & Trekking
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

My second pair and I love them

I had an old pair of Kailash GTX's that I had for about 8 or 9 years and they held up exceptionally well, were comfortable, durable and waterproof. I only had to replace them because the sole was totally worn out and a small patch of leather on the side where it meets the sole was torn and no longer waterproof which is important to me. The hole was only 1/4 inch long and probably could have been avoided by changing soles. I tortured these boots. almost 2 years old and a lot of wear and tear…

Pros
  • Hiking boots
Cons
  • Useless features

If you're looking for durable boots, this isn't it.

I'll start by liking these boots. It's a shame they started falling apart. Both seams of the boot started to diverge at the same time in the toe area (see photo). After a year and a half of wearing, the following happens. I feel like I should have gotten another year or two of that. Also, I've never owned a pair of boots of this quality or worse that did anything like this. So if you're looking for durable boots, this isn't it. Scarpa can lose me as a regular customer after this couple.

Pros
  • Men's
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish
