I wanted to hide my surge protector/surge protector in my office so I first measured the surge protector to make sure it would fit in this box. I love that each end has a nearly an inch hole for wires - in my case I really needed that to accommodate the end of the surge protector. I also like the opening on the side as it gives you the ability to adjust the cable to suit your needs. Although the cost of the "plastic box" seems a bit high, it keeps everything neat and organized, and the cords don't get to my dog, who likes to sleep under my desk. Since it has to last for years, it was worth it for me. In general, I bought a second one. I used this in combination with the 'Kootek 118 Cable Management Cord Case' which can be changed to black or white and keeps my cables out of this box.
