I use this thermometer for BBQ. There is a very strong magnet on the back that stays attached to my grill. The rope is slack enough that I don't have to take it off to check the temperature of the meat. Since I almost always use a thermometer when grilling, it's a great value! The on/off button is on the back so I have to take it off the grill for a moment to turn it on and off, but other than that it lives there. I also love spending zero time looking for my thermometer!
