The egg white clogs the beak.
I really wanted this to work, but I ran into a problem with the egg whites clogging the chicken's beak. I buy organic brown eggs so I'm not sure if a white egg gives the best results. Tried 3-4 times with no success. However, it's as cute as it looks.
