I've really enjoyed using this for the past month as a substitute for trying to stuff a lighter or match into deep candles. It worked every time, but I haven't used it that long, so I can't comment on its long-term quality. I didn't have to charge it, but I don't use it more than a few times a week. The only downside is that it sounds shrill when using it, and that's been noticed by everyone in my family - me, my fiancé and our two cats. This can be a problem for people with sensitive hearing or pets who are very sensitive to noise. Another thing (but I found that out before I bought it) is that most of these arc lighters don't turn on, so you can't use the full length of the lighter. They must manually hold the switch so that they can reach the candle within a few inches or some other distance between the slider to turn it on and the arcing point itself. Overall, however, this is much better than the system I had before burning my fingers with a lighter or lighting a match with the lighter and then reaching for the candle, so I'm happy to give it 4 stars!
