I have a 30 lb french bulldog. I've read other reviews complaining about the metal snaps and had no problem getting them hot in the sun - I keep my car in good shape and cool with the A/C on for my dog. It's easy to put on and the fasteners are easy once you learn how to use them (your first 3-4 rides will require some learning curve how the fasteners slide in and out). It fits him perfectly and I just want to know he's safe. I slammed on the brakes once while driving because the car in front of me came to a sudden stop and he was thrown out but was protected by it. He would have hit the dashboard (he was sitting on a chair). Instead, he slipped off the seat and appeared to be "hanging in mid-air" above the seat. I had to pull him out again and he looked at me like, "What the hell was that?" Okay, he wasn't very happy about that, but he was still sure.
