The dog will go; secure.

Suitable for my dog. She has adapted well to being strapped into her seat belt. They must limit sag to be effective in the event of an impact. Consider airbags if your dog rides in the front seat. The back seat is safer. Update: 9/20/2015, I replaced a standard carabiner that opened twice in the first week I had it - for 20.00 Black Diamond Gridlock carabiner (REI part no. It's much easier to put on and go, attaching the carabiner directly to the webbing and bypassing the chrome loop works…

It is excellent highly recommend

I have a 30 lb french bulldog. I've read other reviews complaining about the metal snaps and had no problem getting them hot in the sun - I keep my car in good shape and cool with the A/C on for my dog. It's easy to put on and the fasteners are easy once you learn how to use them (your first 3-4 rides will require some learning curve how the fasteners slide in and out). It fits him perfectly and I just want to know he's safe. I slammed on the brakes once while driving because the car in front…

Great for deep chested dogs

I love this harness! Our terrier has a very narrow and deep chest, so finding the right harness was a big challenge. The way this adapts is perfect for our pup! The dog that used to run away from all the other teams on a walk now comes straight at me and wags its tail for this version! It is great! I've read complaints that the unique type of buckle is an issue, but I've had no other issues than the first time I put it on my dog, and that's just because I'm new to using it. Simply insert on the

Great dishes and great company!

I bought 2 of these, one for each dog. We traveled frequently between New Jersey and Florida and I wanted them to be safe in the car. The first thing I liked was that if we stopped at the rest area or for any other reason, the dogs were safe in the car until we let them out. There was no more worry that they would come out when we opened the door and took off. We recently had a rather minor accident where the airbags did not deploy but the seat belts "locked up" when we were hit from behind…

Not for greyhounds!

This is a great product if you have a traditional dog. However, if you have an oddly shaped dog like a greyhound or Italian greyhound, this probably won't work. I contacted Kurgo shortly before purchasing. I gave them the measurements and breed and they told me what size to order. I even expressed concern that the strap would suit their deep chest, but was assured that they would be happy with the flexibility of the fit. So I bought 2 of these. They do not fit. They jump on their backs like…

Saved my dog from a bad accident

I was riding my dog Capone in the back seat of a Kurgo harness when someone turned on a red light and hit us on the passenger side. My airbag deployed and the car was wrecked, so don't bend the fenders. I was shocked and got a slight concussion. Capone, on the other hand, was unimpressed. The leash held him in place and he was completely unharmed. He wasn't even afraid. He was just thrilled that someone he'd never seen opened the door. In fact, he spent the time of his life catching the…

Strap your dog in - he could save his life

Let me start by saying that in 2015 we almost lost our Pit Bull Terrier. We adopted her from a local animal shelter and she was a great dog. My daughter was in an accident, the car rolled over twice. She was buckled, the dog wasn't. She was fine, but it almost killed the dog. She lost several teeth and took weeks and multiple visits to the vet to recover. We would be devastated if we lost her. We have three and they will never again ride in a car without their properly checked seat belts. Of…

Harness for Baxter!

I have a 92 lb boxer named Baxter. He will be three years old in June and in these almost three years I have bought a lot of dog goods. The Kurgo Tru-Fit Smart Harness arrived today in size XL. The first thing that struck me was the weight of the package, it was really heavy. When I opened the box and unwrapped the pendant, I was beside myself. The quality of this pendant is like nothing else I have seen (or bought). All buckles, bars and rings are lockets. The stitching is top notch and the…
