Review on Transcend 4 GB Class 6 SDHC Flash Memory Card - Best Performance and Storage for Digital Devices: TS4GSDHC6 by Michael Herrera

Revainrating 3 out of 5

An epic failure indeed. fits memory cards

Yes, I'm one of those chumps who didn't pay attention to the one star ratings on this product. I wanted to save a few euros. I bought this Transcend SDHC card for a Fuji HS10 camera and took several hundred photos with it. I really wanted to test it. It worked fine. For some time. Then, at the conference, after I took about 300 photos, mostly slide presentations, I had a serious breakdown. I accidentally pressed the video capture button on the camera, so I decided to delete this unwanted video. I've run this "erase" function several times now on the HS10 camera and never had a problem. With the HS10, there's no way to accidentally delete ALL your photos at once with that delete button (this is only possible if you go to the main menu and enable the format feature). Once this video is deleted, this card decides that the rest of the stored photos, and there are about 300 of them, also no longer exist. Too bad. Luckily Revain's excellent 30 day guarantee was still in effect and I kept the packaging. I ordered a Sandisk SDHC 30Mb/sec card (btw it's not much faster on the HS10). The Sandisk card arrived yesterday and today I sent this Transcend card back to Revain for a refund. If you look at all Revain reviews, about 20% of the reviews (ranging from one star to three stars) contain comments about unreliability. this Transcend card. Can you believe Revane actually sells this thing? Just think, what if 20% of new cars of the same brand sold in this country stopped working a few days or months after purchase? Anyone else selling these cars? Now the Sandisk card is about 2.5x more expensive than this card, so I'll be VERY upset if it starts misbehaving too.
