Review on Wireless Joey Whole-Home DVR Client by DISH Network by Jayme Newitt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great alternative to punching holes in walls to add an extra receiver antenna

Note: For use with Wireless Joey. You need a Dish wireless access point to work with Wireless Joey and Hopper. Items work great as described by seller, this was my experience installing it. I've been using Dish for less than a year. I live in the country and don't have cable or FiOS so satellite is my ONLY option. I live in an old farmhouse with stucco and lattice walls. Drilling holes in my walls for outlets/wiring was a big problem for me. This is my first time using Wireless Joey. The only problem I have is the activation (THIS IS NOT SELLER'S FAULT!). After several attempts to look at the instructions and other links on the Internet, I was at a loss. I was able to "activate" Wireless Joey with ease. Find out how my account is set up. I think it's because I live month to month (I bought the gear outright so I don't have a contract and can leave whenever I want) and there was no excess money in the account. At least that's what the employee on the phone said. Activation was complete about 5 minutes after the call. And it worked perfectly and the picture looked great. The only difference between this and the wired Joey is the speed of the guide. On the Hopper 3 and other wired joey, the guide switches between stations as fast as I scroll. There is a slight delay with the WiFi, but it works. The picture is excellent, there are no cables (except for the power adapter and HDMI cable). It's really convenient when I want to move it to another room. Need to update if I move to another room.
